Rev. Syd Yang

they/them

Founder

Syd Yang embodies so much joy in engaging recovery as a practice of collective liberation for all bodies, transforming the ways we each connect with possibility, spaciousness and love. A queer trans/non-binary, mixed race, Taiwanese American healer + writer, Syd weaves together magic, possibility + intention in their work with individuals and small groups. For over 25 years, Syd has been supporting healing + body liberation in life-affirming ways, rooting deep into their cultural, ancestral and indigenous practices — holding the interdependence of the bio-psycho-social-spiritual wholeness of every person. As someone who lives with depression and anxiety, cPTSD, and dances with recovery from decades long relationships with bulimia and other substance use behaviors, the work and medicine they share with the world finds its resonance at the intersection of memory, bodies, sexuality, spirituality and mental health, as it intentionally centers the voices and lived/living experiences of queer, trans, non-binary folks of color.

Syd is an ordained Buddhist minister, spiritual counselor, movement chaplain, writer, speaker, teacher and group facilitator.  To hire Syd as a group facilitator, or book them for podcast or speaking engagements: info@bluejaguarlove.com
